Vehicle body and awning projects are carried out within certain steps and legal procedures. Careful and correct implementation of each step is required for project approval and license change. It is mandatory to comply with the relevant regulations and standards in all of these processes.

Vehicle Body Projects

Vehicle chassis projects can be analyzed under the following headings:

IMPORTANT: Modifications to the vehicle must be registered within 30 days.

Vehicle Safe Modification Project Process Sequence

1. Assembly:
   • In order to make a vehicle project, first of all, the chassis-bracket must be mounted on the vehicle.
2. Vehicle Modification Project Preparation:
   • After the vehicle modification is completed, the TSE authorized engineer is notified of the dimensions of the vehicle and the vehicle modification project is prepared according to the vehicle dimensions.
   • The customer is given a file number to go to the TSE vehicle control center.
3. TSE Vehicle Control Center:
   • Go to the TSE vehicle control center with the file number and the vehicle.
   • At the TSE vehicle control center, it is checked whether the vehicle is built according to the vehicle project and dimensions.
   • At the TSE vehicle control center, if there is a vehicle body modification, the vehicle’s stop lamps and rear license plate lighting lamps are checked. Lamps installed must have the letter E on them (Example: E1, E2, E3).
   • When the vehicle length exceeds 6 meters, side marker lights must be installed on the sides of the vehicle every 3 meters. These lamps must also be CE certified. Wedge lamps or horn lamps must be installed at the rear of the chassis or to the right and left of the bumper.
   • After the control made by TSE engineers, the vehicle project is approved.
4. TÜVTÜRK Vehicle Modification Inspection:
   • After TSE approval, a vehicle modification appointment is made with TÜVTÜRK.
   • With the vehicle project, vehicle modification inspection is carried out at TÜVTÜRK vehicle inspection station.
5. Notary License Change:
   • After the vehicle modification inspection is completed, the vehicle license is changed through a notary public.

Superstructure Related Issues

1. Conformity of Superstructures to the Basic Vehicle Manufacturer’s Declaration:
   • Superstructures must remain within the maximum and minimum dimensions and masses declared by the base vehicle manufacturer.
2. Suitability of Load Distribution in Frame Construction:
   • The appropriateness of the load distribution should be checked in the body construction of category N vehicles.
3. Suitability of Chassis Connections:
   • It should be checked that the superstructure chassis connections are made with appropriate methods. In U-bolt connections, precautions must be taken to prevent crushing of the chassis profile.
4. Frame and Fender Gaps:
   • The frame and fenders must be fitted with tires and snow chains of the largest diameter for the vehicle, with a clearance of at least 50 mm even in the worst conditions.
5. Rear Protection Frame:
   • Check that the outermost position of the crates at the rear is appropriate in relation to the rear protection frame.
6. Lighting Devices:
   • Lighting devices added by the superstructure must be marked “E” or “e” and must not contradict the type approval certificate of the previous stage.
7. Category Change:
   • Vehicles whose category changes after the bodywork must comply with all the requirements of the new category.
8. Auto Rescue Vehicle Renovations:
   • In superstructure renovations as an auto rescue vehicle, the vehicle’s payload must be at least 1000 kg after the renovation.
