Project to Add Seats to Panel Van Vehicles

In vehicle seat addition projects, it is important that the vehicle is over 5 years old. For vehicles over 5 years old, special consumption tax (SCT) is not applied. However, when a seat addition project is carried out for vehicles that are less than 5 years old, an SCT tax of around 11% is applied on the invoice price issued in the year the vehicle was put into traffic. This is due to the installation of glass and seats to the vehicle. Generally, choosing vehicles that are more than 5 years old will benefit you.

Steps to Follow for the Project of Adding Seats to Panel Van Vehicles

The following steps should be followed for the project of adding seats to panel vans:

1. Vehicle Change and Modification Process:

• 2 seater vehicles (e.g. VW Caddy, Fiat Doblo, Renault Kango, Opel Combo etc.) produced as N1 class bb van from the factory are converted into 4+1 seater bb van with double row of seats with glass on the sides, floor and ceiling upholstery, and then 3 seats are installed on the back. 4 + 1 vehicle seat addition modification project is applied to these vehicles.
• 2+1 seater van vehicles (e.g. Renault Traffic, VW Transporter, etc.), which are produced as N1 class panel vans from the factory, are converted into a 5+1 side glazed bb van with double row seats by installing glass on the sides and installing 3 seats in the rear. 5+1 seat addition project is applied to these vehicles.

2. Inspection and License Procedures:

• After the vehicle seat addition project is completed, TÜVTÜRK vehicle modification inspection appointment must be made.
• Vehicle modification inspection is carried out by going to TÜVTÜRK vehicle inspection station with a seat addition project.
• After the vehicle modification inspection is carried out, the vehicle owner, together with the vehicle seat addition project documents (TÜVTÜRK vehicle inspection report, TÜVTÜRK detection report), changes the license from the notary public and ensures that the vehicle’s windows and seats are recorded in the license. As a result of this process, the vehicle is transformed into a 4+1-seater pickup truck with side windows or a 5+1-seater pickup truck with double row seats with side windows.
